Simplified Bird Pond Quilt Timeline
Started: October 16, 2018
Finished: October 26, 2018
October 16, 2018: It’s very clear that my plan to make the Spring Village Quilt as my charity quilt this year is not going to work. I need something simpler, but with houses. Fortunately for me I have just received the latest Tilda book, Hot Chocolate Sewing, and there’s a house quilt in it called “Bird Pond.” Well, I’m not going to make the birds or the ponds, just the houses, but I think it will work out. And also be fast! WHich is good because the quilt is due in 10 days.
October 18, 2018: I’ve pulled the center squares, mostly from measured scraps, and am now finding strips to go along with them. I’m determined to use my measured scraps as much as possible, but there’s some really good options in there.
October 19, 2018: All the parts are cut out and ready to assemble!
October 21, 2018: The house bodies are done!
October 23, 2018: The houses are done and assembled into rows. I take the quilt to a friend’s house for pinning (along with her resident quilt inspector) since I have no pinning space with my house under construction.
October 24, 2018: Quilting!
October 25, 2018: Binding! And also two brand-new resident quilt inspectors!! SOOOO cute those boys!
October 26, 2018: Phew! Just in time, the Simplified Bird Pond Baby Quilt is finished and delivered to Juliette’s House for their annual charity auction!
