Timeline:

October 14, 2017: I know that I want to make a quilt for a local charity, Juliette’s House. They are having their annual auction in a few days, and I’ve decided to make a quilt inspired by the book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. It is one of my favorite children’s books and a beautiful story. In the story there is a section where Miss Rumphius is bed-ridden, and the quilt in the drawing is a beautiful hourglass quilt in blue, lavender and white. I pull from what I have and then hit up my local quilt shop for more fabric. I include some of my father’s old shirts for an extra good-luck charm.

October 17, 2017: The top is done, the quilt is pinned!

October 18, 2017: Quilting!

October 20, 2017: Woo hoo! Just in time to submit for the charity auction, the quilt I am calling Scattered Flowers is finished!
