Rainbow Flower Squares Quilt Timeline
Started: December 15, 2014
Finished: December 18, 2016
December 15, 2014: I’m determined to make quilts for every child in our homeschooling group, and the next child is a sweet little girl of a friend of mine. Her Mom decides she wants to do all flowers in a rainbow. We start by pulling as many floral fabrics as possible from the square scrap bins and start arranging them in diagonal rainbow rows.
December 16, 2014: I text her a bunch of possible fabrics for more colors.
December 17, 2014: Using the new cut fabrics I get about 2/3 of the top on the design wall.
July 5, 2015: I make a test section of the quilt to ensure that I still have the rows in order.
December 27, 2015: The test section is still waiting to be made bigger!!
January 7, 2016: The backing is chosen, a bright grassy green!
May 24, 2016: The top is done! Hooray!
June 8, 2016: The quilt is pinned!
July 7, 2016: I photograph and text several quilt pattern options so my friend can decide how she wants the project quilted.
October 22, 2016: Quilting has begun!
November 3, 2016: Took a pause to pin and quilt the Pinksplosion Checkered Nine-Patch Quilt, but now have finished quilting, machined on the binding and am hand sewing the back down.
November 27, 2016: Stilllll hand sewing that binding.
December 6, 2016: Weaving in the ends!
December 18, 2016: Phew!! The Rainbow Flower Squares Quilt is done, just in time to be given as a Christmas gift.
