Peppermint Candy Christmas Quilt Timeline
Started: February 3, 2019
February 3, 2019: I am flipping through a home decor magazine and see a home where the owner has placed am antique quilt over the end of the bed that is a checkerboard redwork embroidery and vintage green squares. I love the white, tomato red and Jadite green combo. Then I think about pinwheel blocks and how a red and white pinwheel would look really similar to peppermint candy. That’s when I know I have my plan. I do math, draft a pattern and pull the most vintage-y fabrics I have.
February 23, 2019: I have cut all the triangles (trying a new method of making half-square triangles). One test block made, it seems to be working!
March 1, 2019: All the blocks are done and set into a layout for assembly!
March 2, 2019: Assembly is half done!
March 5, 2019: The top is finished!
March 7, 2019: I have the perfect backing fabric! Woo hoo! But I don’t have anywhere to pin it so it will have to wait.
