Blue Mini Boat Quilt Timeline
Started: April 10, 2008
Finished: December 25, 2010
April 10, 2008: I show my mother the Mini-Boat Reproduction Quilt, which I plan to give to my father, and she says he would probably prefer a quilt in shades of blue. So I start a new quilt with small boats using the blues I can find in my stash.
June 1, 2008: After diligently working on the tiny boats every night after the kids are in bed, I have finally assembled all the boat blocks and begin laying out the blocks and sashing. Unfortunately navy blue is not my favorite color, so I’m having a hard time being motivated to work on the quilt.
December 25, 2010: It’s been a long road and not a lot of documentation, but I’ve managed to finish the Blue Mini-Boat Quilt JUST in time to give it to my Dad for Christmas. Whew!! I kept putting it off because I needed a border to make it big enough and I didn’t love the options I had and couldn’t afford to buy more. But in the end I think it turned out well and my Dad seemed pleased. He didn’t get the reference at first, but he seemed touched once I explained where the quilt had come from.
