Antique Unfinished Double Wedding Ring Sections

I may have gotten myself into a little trouble again (whoopsie!!). Remember a while back when I bought those unfinished ocean waves blocks (both light and dark) AND a set of antique Dresden Plate blocks?? Yes, we’ll I’ve been at it again. Just one purchase this time, this set of double wedding ring arcs, ready to piece into a final double wedding ring quilt. (Update: Nowadays I like to find unfinished quilt blocks on Etsy!)

I have always always always wanted to make a double wedding ring quilt, ever since I was a teenager. But I have never started one because I was scared. Curves! Tiny pieces! Weird arcs! Sigh. I thought maybe if I bought some vintage arcs pre-finished I might actually finish it.

There are a bunch of them. Look at all those fabrics! So many feedsack prints, they’re just amazing. And that stitching, so many teeny tiny hand stitches. Whoever made these really knew what they were doing.

All the fabrics just amaze me, and I’m lucky to have them. I don’t know if they’ll ever get made into a quilt. They are so gorgeous but I don’t know if my skills are up to the challenge. Maybe someday.

Do you have a quilt that you’ve always, always, always wanted to make but been too afraid to go through with it? Which one?

Much love,
